React Native agency Europe - what to look for?

Mikołaj Lehman, CEO & Founder
Mikołaj Lehman
CEO & Founder

A strong React Native agency in Europe should prove three things: live App Store and Google Play apps, backend/API ownership, and a release plus maintenance process. Poland nearshore makes sense when you need CET overlap, English delivery and fixed price after DDT without building two native teams.

When a European React Native agency makes sense

Europe (and Poland nearshore) fits when you need a CET-overlap team with London, Berlin or a morning window to US East Coast, English delivery and a TypeScript stack: React Native, Expo, NestJS, Next.js or Medusa. The advantage is not the hourly rate alone, but the mix of cost, communication quality and outcome ownership.

This is not “cheapest developer wins”. It pays off for commerce, B2B, loyalty or apps with ERP/payment integrations where one partner owns mobile, API and store submission. For one screen and a ready API a freelancer may suffice.

For UK/DACH companies, Europe removes time-zone friction. For US East Coast companies, it gives a morning decision window without late-night calls. For both groups the real question is whether the partner owns the product outcome or only provides capacity.

What agency directories show, and what they do not

DesignRush analyses thousands of React Native companies and exposes filters such as budget, rate, team size and verified reviews. Clutch and GoodFirms help build a shortlist in a similar way. These are useful tools, but not a substitute for due diligence.

A directory answers “who exists and has reviews?”. It does not answer “who owns backend, release, QA, maintenance and business outcome?”. After shortlisting, you need your own partner evaluation matrix.

Toptal and similar platforms are useful when you need an individual expert. If the app affects revenue, retention or operations, talent sourcing alone is not enough - you need a delivery process.

Agency partner vs freelancer / body leasing

An agency partner delivers the product: discovery, architecture, QA, store submission, code review and documentation. Body leasing adds a head to your backlog without accountability for the outcome. Freelancers cost less on narrow scope but integration and store compliance risk grows.

  • Red flag: portfolio is mockups and landing pages, no App Store/Play links.
  • Red flag: agency never asks about backend, ERP integrations or store submission.
  • Red flag: T&M only with no discovery and no fixed-price range after DDT.
  • Red flag: no E2E tests (Maestro/Detox) and no post-go-live maintenance plan.

GMI delivery model for EU, UK and US clients

English as project language, 2-week sprints, demo every iteration, client-side Product Owner. Start: DDT workshop - output is MVP backlog, API architecture and fixed-price ranges. EUR/USD invoicing, repositories handed over after paid milestones.

Typical loyalty MVP: EUR 18,000 - 32,000, 3-4 months to stores. Mobile commerce with integrations: EUR 38,000 - 70,000, usually 4-6 months. B2B/operational apps with ERP or offline: EUR 55,000 - 95,000. SFD case (100k+ downloads, 4.9★) is a production RN + headless backend reference, not a PoC.

Decision matrix: nearshore, local agency or staff augmentation

Choose a nearshore product team when you want mobile, backend, QA, release and maintenance in one accountability model. This is the strongest option for companies with a business owner but no desire to build a full internal mobile team.

Choose a local on-site agency when procurement, regulation or the board require face-to-face workshops for most of the project. Be careful with agencies that sell local contact but quietly move delivery elsewhere without transparency.

Choose staff augmentation when you already have a product owner, tech lead, QA, architecture and release process. If those elements are missing, you buy capacity without the system that gets an app into stores.

European React Native agency selection checklist

Check each point before shortlisting - a strong partner answers with specifics (app names, team roles, publication timeline), not vague claims.

  1. Production apps - App Store and Google Play links, not PDF mockups.
  2. Stack - Expo, EAS Build, TypeScript, E2E tests (Maestro/Detox), RN/Expo upgrade plan.
  3. Backend and integrations - agency builds API (NestJS/Medusa), ERP, payments - one TypeScript team.
  4. Pricing - DDT + fixed price on scope vs open-ended T&M.
  5. Submission and compliance - who submits to stores, privacy manifest, demo account, data policy.
  6. Ownership - full code and repository rights after paid milestones.
  7. Nearshore delivery - English, CET overlap, Clutch/G2 references with a call, not logos only.

RFP questions (React Native agency Europe)

A solid RFP includes app type, integration list, publication deadline, compliance needs and budget range. The questions below help compare quotes after DDT, not hourly rate alone.

  1. How many RN apps are live in stores and what integrations (ERP, payments, loyalty)?
  2. Who builds backend and API - same team or subcontractor?
  3. Do you offer fixed price after discovery (DDT)? Typical MVP scope in EUR?
  4. What is store submission process and rejection support?
  5. How do you measure quality - crash-free rate, E2E tests, code review?
  6. Industry experience (commerce, B2B, health, IoT)?

When GMI is not the best fit

GMI is not ideal for pure body leasing with no client product ownership, a single-screen project without integrations, or full-year US on-site with no remote.

We are strong on React Native + Expo + TypeScript backend, commerce/B2B and fixed price after DDT. If you only need a cheap theme or a freelancer on a ready API - other engagement models fit better.

Next step: estimate and discovery

If you have a brief (app type, integrations, store deadline), contact GMI - initial scope and budget ranges within 48h. Full fixed-price offer requires a DDT workshop.

Frequently asked questions

Agency in Poland or Germany?
Poland nearshore usually offers better price-to-seniority at the same CET overlap. Germany wins when daily on-site presence in DACH is mandatory.
Does GMI work with US clients?
Yes - English delivery, morning CET overlap with US East Coast, EUR/USD billing. Initial estimate within 48h of a complete brief.
How long for a React Native MVP?
Typically 3-5 months to store production with RN + Expo and a ready or parallel-built API. Discovery before kickoff reduces publication delay risk.
Fixed price or time and materials?
After DDT we recommend fixed price on agreed scope - predictable budget for the CTO. T&M stays for discovery or when the client wants their own PO and flexible backlog.
